Fashion + Gaming = StyledGamer

I haven't done a post about how to incorporate gaming, and nerdy things, into fashionable outfits. Since I am a fashion student and a lover of video games I thought that maybe I should take the time to write about it.... I don't know just a thought.

Anyways, so I always start an outfit with a shirt. I like my shirts to make a statement most of the time. So I generally will pick a batman shirt, or The Walking Dead, or Sons of Anarchy and go from there. No crew necks though; I don't like them, so if I do buy one I'll cut the neck out so it's an off - the - shoulder top instead.

Now, I would probably start with this batman, all over printed, tank top. (available at Hot Topic) and pair it with this white cardigan with a back skull detail (also available at Hot Topic).  Something simple to add, but also very effective.

Then, because it's still warm in Canada, I would top it all of this with a pair of high - waisted, distressed, acid wash shorts. Just to continue this rebellious look (found at amiclubwear.com).

Don't forget to add a few silver studded accessories. Maybe a pair of flats, Greek strappy sandals, or a pair of Dr. Martins to top off the look. That's the first outfit of maybe a few more. Ideas? Opinions? Maybe you'd do something differently? Let me know!

Raise the Black Flag

Recently, I have finally decided to purchase Assassin's Creed Black Flag. It took me a while to buy it because I wasn't impressed with Assassin's Creed 3; it took too long to get into the initial story line, and I was quite bored with it. Assassins Creed 3 ended up being a sleeper game when I was willing to put the time and effort into playing it. Which was really unfortunate because I was in love with Ubisoft's series.

However, I'm quite impressed with how they have created Black Flag. The graphics are unreal, reaction times are seamless, touchy enemies (much more fun and challenging) and a new witty character - Edward.

The story line, is where my heart really lies. It definitely reminds me of Assassin's Creed 2 when Ezio was first introduced as a stylish, flirty roguish character. Edward is very much like that; flirty, fun, and definitely attractive. I also like how he falls into the roll of Assassin from pirate, and his ability to change the tide of the conversation in his favor. I also definitely love how big the map is. It seems almost like the Skyrim map - endless. I do also enjoy the difference in location. It's a nice break from Europe and a reminder of what I wish Canada's weather would be like all year round.

The gameplay is like Revelations, a lot of free roam killing and assassinating. A lot of nice little side missions and contracts, on your own time missions and a lot of fun new ways to kill people. Plus the new added customization of your very own pirate ship! (I put a Mermaid on mine, just saying).

Definitely much happier with this game, and really excited for Assassins Creed Unity. Ubisoft has won my love back; that's for sure.

Lost and Found

So this past weekend, after looking through some old childhood boxes, I stumbled upon my old GameBoy! Not only did I find my old GameBoy but I also found a few childhood memory games to go with it including: Pokémon Red, Pokémon Yellow, Pokémon Blue & Donkey Kong.

Needless to say that the last few days I've been playing Pokémon Red and it's been so long that it feels like a completely new game. I'm loving it!

So this time I'm leaving it short and sweet because I really want to get back to it; I already have 5 badges and some pretty awesome Pokémon. My question for you guys is, when playing retro Pokémon, which one was always your first pick? Charmander? Squirtle? Bulbasaur? Pikachu?

Let me know!
